In honor of my birthday this past week, this week’s Fill in the Blank Friday question is:
For my birthday, the one dessert I want to
enjoy the most is:________
Easy answer for me. Cake. I love cake. And I so rarely have it that it becomes such a special treat when I do. My only problem is that I love it so much, there is no way I can portion-control when I am eating it (which probably why I rarely eat it!).
Of course, when you talk about cake, there is the debate about whether or not is has to be paired with ice cream. My husband usually prefers cake on it’s own, and I like a bit of ice cream with mine.
Another cake debate is: chocolate or vanilla? I prefer chocolate and my husband prefers vanilla. While I wouldn’t consider myself a chocoholic, I think the vanilla icing is too sweet when paired with vanilla cake. Which is probably why we get a marble cake when we are sharing it. Marriage…it’s all about compromise, right?
Link up or leave the answer to today’s Fill in the Blank Friday question here. (And feel free to weigh in on the cake debate: ice cream/not and what flavor is best!).
Now, where’s the rest of that birthday cake when you need it?

You and my hubby would get along great then. That’s his favorite (especially if it’s from Costco!).

Chocolate! Anything chocolate. You may mix in nuts if you want, but no fruit

I totally agree with the fruit comment. Fruit should be kept separate. Sweets shouldn’t be mixed with fruits!

For my birthday, the one dessert I want to
enjoy the most is: Cold Stone Creamery a place that carries my favorite flavors: Cake Batter/Chocolate Cake Batter and I put cookie dough in it. I have to have the “gotta have it” size which is like the Xlg. If my husband wasn’t looking I would actually get a half gallon and probably eat it in one day, okay, I lied…one sitting!!! I rarely get it so when I do I pig out

Cake is awesome, but I am an ice cream gal! Blue Bell’s homemade vanilla to be exact. There’s nothing like it!

I have never been much of a cheesecake person. But maybe I need to give it another try!

There is a little bistro on the corner of 2nd and Ivinson in Laramie WY that makes Chocolate Sin Cheesecake. It’s my birthday dream :0)

I love the parfait that my mom makes and would have to say that it’s my all time favorite for birthdays.
If it’s any other cake though – yellow cake w/ vanilla frosting and lots and lots of ice cream (yes I am an ice cream pig!! especially right now ha!). Ice cream is almost more important than the cake for me!

My favorite cake is Marble, the best of both worlds! I also love ice cream cake or cheesecake!
