I am a Generation X’er, a loyal friend, a domestic engineer/social director, and a family therapist by profession. I have 2 sons, ages 2.5 years and 8 months old who keep me busier than I’d like some days.
Do you work? Since I consider being a SAHM working, the answer is “yes!” But I’ve been meaning to talk with the manager of this place about my pay. I think they have been sending my paychecks to the wrong address because I have yet to see one!
What did you do when you worked outside of the house?
I have an undergraduate degree in education and a masters in therapy. For the past 6 years, I have been working primarily with drug abusing teens and their families. Is it hard work? Yep, you bet. Does being a therapist make you even more paranoid you’ll screw your kids up because of what you’ve seen? For sure, but I try to put it in perspective. I have stepped away from the field temporarily to focus on raising my boys. Will I go back to work? Probably (unless we win the lottery….but I guess we technically have to PLAY it for a chance to win).
Are you going to have more kids?
See the cartoon in my header? Does she look like she would want anymore kids?! I joke, but the answer is no, it’s not in the plans. Not because I don’t love being a mom (some most days), but because being the mom of two feels just right for me and my hubby.
Tell me some random stuff about you.
I love spinning, entertainment news, reading mom-lit/chic-lit books, and having a glass of wine with good girlfriends. Glee is my new favorite show and if you haven’t seen it, you don’t know what you’re missing. I am a total 90’s sitcom junkie and always will be. I am not unfamiliar to the world of social media and the Internet as I was co-founder of a moms’ website dedicated specifically to suburban moms (SuburbMoms.com, which is currently on hiatus). I don’t have any cool hidden talents, but wish I did. Stay tuned to the blog because I’m sure you’ll learn more about me!
